ESG: No Consideration of Adverse Impacts of Investment Decisions on Sustainability Factors
The European Union (EU) has introduced an extensive regulatory framework for the consideration of sustainability factors, commonly known by the acronym "ESG." This stands for "Environmental," "Social," and "Governance."
Sound Capital AG (SoundCapital) welcomes the EU’s initiative regarding ESG regulations. However, at present, we do not have sufficient data to fully assess the impact of these regulations. Our business operations are governed by the legal framework in Switzerland, where no directly comparable regulations currently exist.
For the reasons mentioned, SoundCapital does not currently take into account adverse impacts of investment decisions on EU sustainability factors as part of its asset management and investment advisory services. Nonetheless, we place great importance on the individual investment preferences of our clients. If our clients prefer to avoid investing in certain economic sectors or companies, we naturally implement these preferences.
